Max speed WAN not 500 mbps, but drops to 183 mbps

I am using a new Mikrotik CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD router. It is connected to a 500/500 mbps down/up fiber Experia V9 box.
When connection my laptop directly on Experia LAN port 2, I get 508/512 mbps down/up as it should be.
But When I then connect the laptop via my port 10 on the Mikrotik, and connect the MikroTik WAN port to the same Experia port 2 the speed drops to 183/186 mbps down/up.

Any tips?

CRS is quite slow as a router, it is intended to be mainly a switch.

Try fasttrack. It will help with natting performance.

My recommendation is RB850Gx2 as a minimum.

I can do 500Mbps natting with RB2011 and FastTrack at 65% CPU, but not if the port is in a RouterOS bridge.

But I see this is a symmetric connection, so I don’t think the RB2011 would be able to max out the pipe, even forgetting about the bridging limitation.

In any case you would be right at the limit and any configuration change would probably impact your bandwidth, not really a great situation.
