Hi, Is there a maximum Cap AC combination quantity ?
The scenario is like this the RB3011 will be the main router and handle all dhcp
RB3011 —> Cap AC 1 —> Cap AC 2 —> Cap AC 3 —> Cap AC 4 —> Cap AC 5 —> Cap AC 6
For Cap AC 1 the power will be using the included PoE adapter. The distance between Cap AC is around 15m-20m maximum.
The next Cap AC will be powered by previous Cap AC ETH2 ( PoE Out )
For cap configuration we will use client-to-client-forwarding=yes local-forewarding=no, 3 separate SSID with different vlan
Will this cause a performance degradation due to power ?
I don’t think anything after cap 3 will power on at all. Chaining more than two of them without additional power injection along the way seems pretty stupid.
I see I thought I can do this. Does mikrotik has better product for this setup ?
My problem is the source is on the far left, and I have to reach far right Cap AC 6
How about using poe injector every 2 device ?
RB3011 | eth10 | PoE injector ----> Eth 1 | Cap AC 1 | Eth 2 ----> Eth 1 | Cap AC 2 | Eth 2 | PoE Injector ----> Eth 1 | Cap AC 3 | Eth 2 ----> Eth1 | CaP AC 4
Thanks for the input, I think it’s safer to put PoE Switch in the middle and pull individual line for each Cap AC. I forgot that I might need to extend Cap AC (1B,2B and so on ) from each of them.
