Maximum concurrent/active SSIDs/Virtual APs?

Hello,

I searched but haven´t found any information. So how many SSIDs or virtual access points can I configure and run actively on a RouterOS wifi access point? e.g. my current devices support 8 SSIDs per radio concurrently and I wish I could have more

Regards

I don’t think there is a limit but the more VAP’s, the more performance will drop.
The downside of enabling more SSIDs is that it creates more channel utilization due to overhead.

here

you can calculate overhead of using multiple ssids

No limit? Great.
33% loss with 10 SSIDs, well it will work either
Thanks!

dont underestimate it

33% is a lot of performance you loose, because is 33% of total air time, because that are colored red in the graphic

the impact of it can be mitigated changing the bitrate of beacons are using, for example 10 ssids transmitted at default datarate of 1mbps uses 33% of airtime, but 10 ssids transmitted at 6mbps datarate only takes 5-6% of airtime
