Maxstream radios connection to RB112 with SR9

Hi all i was wondering if the MaxStream 900 Mhz Xtreme Radio will work as a CPE with Mikrotik software or the routerboard, Can i use these radios for CPE on the routerboard 112 with an SR9? thanks

I don’t know of any different 900MHz cards that are compatible with each other. I would think those cards would work with RouterOS and Routerboards, but I’m almost positive they wouldn’t work with SR9s.

So your saying if you have an SR9 on your AP, you will need an SR9 on your CPE unit? -Jordan

some in this forum say that SR9 and XR9 does not work together both are manufactured by ubiquity

That is correct.

I have both SR9s and XR9s and they are NOT compatible with each other. So not only do you have to use cards from the same manufacturer, you need the identical model.

WHY o WHY do they do that??? Maybe they struck a deal with advil. This giving wisp operators more headaches with none compatible cards…

Well, as far as the SR9/XR9 incompatibility, it’s due to the improvements they made. I don’t know what the technical details are, but I’ve been told that if they would have made them compatible, they would have lost most of the things that made the XR9 a better card.
