Meaning of Error Message "bad value (6)" During SNMP Walk

Hello,

I am a new user of The Dude but over the last week or so, with the help of this forum and its users, our Network Map is really starting to take shape. I’ve identified nearly every device on our network and have established some nice snmp functions & probes along the way.

We have some Aruba brand wireless access points that I’d like to probe as well. After setting the community string on the devices I can initiate an SNMP walk with the Dude, however for each device the walk is interrupted with the message “bad value (6)” displayed in the status bar. I haven’t experienced this with the printers or windows machines on our network, and I haven’t had luck in searching for things like ‘snmp bad value (6)’ online (or here on the forum).

So, can anyone provide me with a little bit of context for this message? Anything to help me track down the cause will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I’ve got an update on the situation here, if anyone is interested.

The MIBs are correctly installed and visible in the Dude > Mib Nodes panel, but it seems that they are not being included when the snmpwalk is set to ‘all’.

However by selecting ‘subtree’ instead of ‘all’ and specifying the correct subtree, the data is returned successfully.

Should I make a bug report for this issue?

Thanks,
