Memory leak in 2.9.2? Or does it just use memory different?

Hi all!

There seems to be a memory leak in 2.9.2.
Check out http://www.meulie.net/GRAPHS/weekly.gif
I upgraded on friday, and after that memory use has been rising and rising… I wonder whether it will level off, or just crash when all memory is in use…? :sunglasses:

I’ve been running a 2.9.x system for a few months now - with 64mb of ram. It’s never run out - I think it slowly crawls up to a certain point and levels off… maybe because connection tracking (# of sessions) and other factors. I don’t think there is a memory leak in normal operations though.

You don’t notice the difference in memory usage between 2.9.1 & 2.9.2 in the graph I posted…? :open_mouth:

Well, Mikrotik support just told me my graph looks normal, and that I will not run out of memory. I guess we’ll know for sure in about 50 hours from now…

I see 2.9.3 is out… But since the ChangeLog doesn’t make any mention of a fix for my problem I’m gonna stick with 2.9.2, just to prove that my memory WILL fill up 100% and take down my MT-box… :smiling_imp:

Well, I did upgrade to 2.9.4, but the problem persists…
I’m now at 95.2% full. Let’s see what happens when it tops out in a couple of hours… :open_mouth:

I’m stumped! For no apparant reason(?) the memory usage has ‘reset’ itself (without rebooting the whole MT-unit) to its start value (as you can see on the graph)

Hmm, I guess it was (almost) nothing to worry about after all…

This isnt memory, but same type problem that its maxing out more than 3 times per day now. Have asked this question in other part of forum and no answer yet so try here too.
Anyone figure this one out yet?
thnks

It seems to be fixed in 2.9.6, although the ChangeLog doesn’t mention it… :sunglasses:

Which version are you using?

And its now up to 5 times per day that its freezing up from 100% usage cpu.]

Hmm, that sounds like a different problem than I had. My CPU usage always remained low. It was only the memory usage that was troubling my unit…

thanks for the reply
