I would like to setup a mesh network in my community.
I have discussed the possible use of the city’s utility poles.
I would have an AP located on each block.
I would like to have the whole network setup with hotspot control.
People could travel from one part of town to another while maintaining connectivity to the network.
Can this be achieved with Mikrotik?
mesh is something diffrent than thing you want to achive… the simplest way to do this is to build big bridge and name all the hotspot with the same SSID with some central auth server.
btw. mesh is a way to find best way over the network with some redundancy and possible failure in some places.
I was always told to route rather than bridge my network.
Would this be a different kind of bridge?
I’m looking at a posible two to three hundred AP’s
Redundancy or multiple routes (mesh) in case of a failure will be a requirement.
How would your sugestion work for high speed handover in mobility applications?
