Hi,
I am looking into the possibility of running a scalable mesh network.
I have been looking at others like mesh dynamics and tropos and like the idea of triple-radio mesh 2 x 802.11a one for incoming mesh traffic and one for outgoing mesh traffic and 1 x 802.11b/g for client connections. Wouldn’t having triple radios cause any interference or cross talk between radios? Would this work in Mikrotik?
In your opinion would having triple radio be negligible on performance bearing in mind I would need to run VoIP and Video?
I am thinking of using Mikrotik hardware in an enclosure and mount 2 x 5 GHz low power Omni’s on top of the enclosure and 1 x 2.4 GHz mounted underneath. Would there be any problems with this assuming there is no cross talk?
Also I would like to run QOS for VoIP and Video surveillance, could this be run using Layer 2 MESH? Can you run WMM?
802.11r does not appear to be supported by Mikrotik. Is there an alternative?
Can WDS links be routed? They do not have to be on the same subnet etc?
THANK YOU in advance
