I have been running a network of around 15 AP’s using a variety of single and dual radio repeaters. To this point everything has been static wds but I would really like to make it a dynamic mesh to reduce the work required to add radios. My question is how to handle the dual radio points. Currently they have one radio on a directional antenna and another radio on an Omni. They run at different frequencies and SSID’s and are bridged. In the mesh arrangement, should I put the both on the same freq. and SSID? If so, do I take them out of a bridge? Seems like they would be double “bridged” if I left them in. Do people generally run their mesh points with a virtual AP for the clients to connect, or just use the mesh ssid?
