Hi there,
I got an email this morning from paypal - and yes, I’ve done checks to ensure that is 100% paypal.
Has anyone got a message like this? Is there really anything that needs to be done, since it seems to be working fine.
Dear XXXXXXXXXXX,
Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). Instant Payment Notifications sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
Look at the URL: http://XXXXXXXXXX:81//user?payment=payp … 77&subid=1.
It’s tcp/81 on whatever IP is referenced in the URL, or resolved from the hostname referenced in the URL.
Are you using Apache? If so, you will need to set it to listen on port 81 also. PayPal uses port 80 as standard, and 81 and a couple other ports are used if your ISP blocks port 80.
I’m only use the RB software and usermanager on the network - purely for the hotspot control.
Shall i just forget about this email I’ve received from them?
