I am very new to this whole thing…just wanted a stronger antenna to rec’v internet from office to house a couple of hundred feet away…was told this(411ah and 15dbi omni)would do the job and let my campers rec’v internet also(own a small campground) Unfortunately, once I rec’d the boxes by UPS..I knew I was in over my head..I immediately called him and he helped log into winbox…unfortunately…after trying to follow directions in the manual…I can no longer find my routerbox in winbox…I have tried the ip and mac addresses that i wrote down…and nothing pops up when I click the dots nor on the bottom of winbox…I am now at a standstill and the company that sold it to me gave me a pay by the hour tech line to call now…Help!!!
Probably blocked all traffic in firewall. Happens surprisingly often when new to mikrotik. Only way to fix this is through serial interface with console. Read manuals how to do.
Find an app on mikrotiks site called NeighborViewer.exe that will get you back into your router. I have a buddy that’s a really good mirotik guy if you want his name email me — michael at selectphonesolutions dot com. He runs a wireless business and also does mikrotik support. He will get you going. Myself im a noob like you so it’s all over my head
