I’m trying to setup MetaRouter on a RB1000 running 4.9 but it keeps on crashing. I’m updating to 5.0, since I see they fix that issue.
Now to why I’m trying to use MetaRouter in the first place.
My ISP is giving us 2 sets of IP. A private IP to be connected to their Metro Ethernet switch and a Public one for my firewall.
I don’t have a router to place between the RB1000 and the ISPs Switch, so i decided to try the MetaRouter.
Besides the issues above, I’m still not sure how I’m supposed to configure the MetaRouter to “connect” to the RB1000.
I create 2 dynamic interfaces in the MetaRouter.
Create a bridge and assign vif2 and eth4 to the bridge.
Assign the ISPs Private address to the bridge
here is where I get confused. Do I need to create another bridge fov vif1? If so, what other port do I connect to it?
The addresses needs to be nated so I can’t use the LAN interface? eth4 is already in the bridge
What am I missing? Is this the right approach or should I look elsewhere.
