how to upgrade firmware? now using 5.26..catalog say have high range wifi. but my coverage less than 500meters only still bad. its that firmware or my setting?

and i cant pass 1 house above it..it mean if i put metal at lvl 1..signal cant go to lvl 3..lvl 2 was ok. tested with galaxy s4.

some of my AP use indoor some is outdoor. can guide me best setting for indoor and outdoor. its that true if put higher antenna gain will make lost data? so normally if house like 650sq each high rise building..what setting can give last miles for this device?
