I use metal 2shpn as access point for an area with 200 meter radius but i only have the signal for 50 meter. i use omni 15db antenna. how can i extend the wireless rang?
I have configured the TX power to default (maximum values=32db) values and when i use the manual or fixed ones to the values that are lower than 32 for example 17db, the signal is going weaker.
I also select the manual tx power ( between manual , fixed rates and super channel) in wireless tab and in advanced mode and write the 15db antenna in antenna gain blank.
In advanced tab i also write different distances but there is no difference in signal strength so i put it on dynamic.
what should i do?
If you are using a Metal 2SHPn with a 15dB omni you should absolutely be able to cover the 200 meters (656ft) without any problems. Try these settings:
On the Wireless tab:
Freq-Mode = manual-txpower
Country = Whatever you want
Ant Gain = 0
Advanced Tab:
Distance= Dynamic
Leave all other settings on this tab as default
HT
Make sure you have the correct TX/ RX selected.
TX Power Tab:
set to default
If these settings don’t work then you probably have hardware problem or something environmentally causing the problem, but you can always do a system reset and start from scratch.

Also a 15dB antenna will likely make some ‘dead zones’ and it would be better to have something like a 6dB with a better pattern if you have clients moving around.
In the wireless tab i wrote 15dB in antenna gain tab, should i change it to 0? i should transmit the 16 analogue CCTV so i need at least 16M bandwidth.
The antenna gain portion is used to insure that you are within the legal limits for your locality, so if you do not have the other options set, then it does nothing. If the other options are set, then it lowers the power output because the antenna increases the ERP of the whole system
.
Are your cameras actually analog, or is analogue a brand or something?
No. the analog camera (CCTV).
