Metal 5SHPn Will Not Connect Wireless/Wired

Hello,

I use my Metal 5SHPn as a portable access point, the most recent time I plugged it in I could not connect to wifi with any device, laptop, phone or tablet. To troubleshoot I began by plugging it in to the ethernet port on my laptop. When I went to my networking options ethernet connection would flash between being connected and not connected, but never long enough to obtain an IP or log in to webfig. I reset the AP but no luck, the wifi is not transmitting, ethernet wont allow connection.

Not sure what version I am running, I think 5.21, I can’t connect to the device at all to provide config settings or anything. Any help is appreciated. Am I out of luck?

Hé Mikrobean, try with another network cable it is the same.

Download “winbox” en click on the 3 dots, select Mac-address en try connect.
http://download2.mikrotik.com/winbox.exe

See by “wireless” if the wireless interface is up.

I have tried multiple different network cables with no luck. I gave your suggestion a try but the device would not show up in winbox.

Set firewall on your pc off en try than

That’s weird, give the network card from your laptop a fixed ip and try again.
what operating system you have on your laptop?

Again no luck. I am running windows 7.

I just noticed that when plugging in a working Metal RB it makes beeping noises when powering on. This one that is not working however does not beep when turning on.

The groove don’t start up.
Recover the groove with netinstall
Use the .NPK file from routeros 6.7 on http://www.mikrotik.com/download

This was it! Thank you, I didn’t realize the AP could be turned on without booting.
