Metal 9HPn Units Will Not Connect

I’ve got two Metal 9HPn units that I’m trying to set up for testing. I have dummy antenna loads connected to them, and they’re within a few feet of each other, so they should ‘see’ each other.

I’ve confirmed that they’re both transmitting (using a commercial communications service monitor/spectrum analyzer).

I’ve got one set as an AP Bridge and the other one set as a Station Bridge. I’ve got them both set to 907 Mhz, 5 Mhz Bandwidth, NV2 Protocol.

When I do a Scan on the Station Bridge unit, nothing shows up. And the Status on the Station Bridge unit never shows it connecting to the AP Bridge.

In the Wireless settings, the “Band” settings show “2GHz”, but the Channel settings show 900 MHz channels. Why is this?

Any suggestions on what may be wrong?

John,
I have a similar setup on my desk with these units. Were you ever successful getting them to talk to one another? My current configuration is PTP Bridge AP and PTP Bridge CPE. Neither of them show any signal strength on the LED display…just one blinking LED, presumably for LAN activity.

The “Band” settings show 2GHz because this is their only 900MHz product and they didn’t bother to add a menu option, that is normal behavior. Also it is a 2GHz wireless being down-converted to 900MHz.

Keep in mind that those units are incredibly well shielded, basically no leakage. We put two in our RF cabinet to test them and they wouldn’t connect, turned out that 1 foot apart was actually much too far, the signal was so low that they could not connect to each other, we had to have them practically touching each other to connect.
