Metal5 + Kenbotong 32 dbi problem

Hi
i used Metal5 SHPN + Kenbotong 32Dbi , i used 5180 frequency , with nv2 protocol i got -60 signal strength but after client register i can not ping AP ! also i got 14mb/s in TX but 0 in RX !!! what is problem ? i read in Kenbotong catalog that this Dual Dish just support 5700~5825 !!! what this really mean ? means i can not use 5180 ???
i’m really confused :frowning: could anyone please help me ?

As per your specifications the antenna performs best in this frequency range: 5700-5825, but you should be able to use it in 5180 frequency as well. Please post a screenshot from you AP settings and a screenshot from wireless>registration containing:

  • Tx/Rx Signal Strength
  • Signal To Noise
  • Tx/Rx CCQ
  • TDMA Timing Offset
  • Tx/Rx Rate

Additional questions:

  • what is the distance between AP and client?
  • is Metal5 your AP or your client?

Hi
i use metal 5SHPN in both side , Distance Is 25 KM , LOS , and there is no noise on link , because it’s desert and no one use another radio in that line

Tx/Rx Signal Strength : 60/61

  • Signal To Noise : i don’t remember because in can not access my device right now , but i think it was -118 , but not sure
  • Tx/Rx CCQ : 20/10 % !!!
  • TDMA Timing Offset : i tested from 1 to 10 !
  • Tx/Rx Rate : 14Mbs/0 !!!

also i can not ping other side ! but winbox lists all devices in other side but does not connect to them

The CCQ level is too low. Rx Rate must not be 0. Try different frequencies, channel width, protocols. Realign the antennas. What is your ping latency in miliseconds? Is this a MIMO antenna?

i can not even ping !! i have a question , i got 60 when scan from client , i think it’s good , is this 60 means my antennas are aligned or not ? yes this is MIMO , but i used one polarization

Yes, but your CCQ indicates something is bad. You must find a way to test different frequencies, channel width and protocol. Are you using H or V polarization? Have you tested the Metals in a lab before?

yes i tested them in lab , i’m using H polar , i don’t know how winbox listed all devices on other side fast ! but i can not ping or connect to them!

Since winbox discovers the other end, can you connect via mac address instead of IP?

no !!! it’s a big question for me !!:frowning:

Can you try winbox discovery from the other end? I suppose you are at the client side, therefore can you try to connect to client winbox from the AP side? Let us know how you get along with it.

i solved it , it’s all about nv2 and bridge protocol , i used nstreme and rstp in bridge , now i can ping and every thing is fine

i got 70% CCQ in nstreme but 10 % in nv2 !!! what’s the problem ?

Please note that CCQ will be low if you are not pushing any traffic as the data-rates are low at the beginning of the connection.
Please contact support and attach the support output files from your setup when Nv2 wireless protocol is used.
