MicroSD card initialization (on hEX S specifically)

I inserted the card (32 GB) into Hex S and it doesn’t get automatically detected. Am I supposed to reboot the device or there’s some incompatibility?

Can someone who owns Hex S confirm how deep the card goes into the slot? Mine sticks out by about 8 millimeters.

Yes, you need to reboot (actually it would make sense to insert the microSD card with the router off and then boot/power it).

it’s sticking out too much, it’s more like 5mm.
you can see it the same instant in winbox , and afterwards you have to format it, but it shows up instantly as a removable device.

That was it, I inserted it upside down! Or actually, I put it correctly but the socket was upside down, for some reason. :slight_smile:

Info for future readers: it sticks out by about 3 mm on hEX S and gets auto mounted, doesn’t require reboot.

I thought that it would not have been auto-detected, good to know, though I still believe that inserting and removing cards is better done with the device off.
