I was wondering if anyone knows how i can my set up to work. I have an Microtik router with a configured hotspot. Conected to it is a wavlink AC1200 in Router mesh mode which has three other AC1200 connected to the mesh. My problem is now that the Microtik hotspot only sees the wavlink mesh router as all wireless clients get DHCP from wavlink mesh router.
Until i find solution to operate setup as mesh, i have temporarely reconfigured wavelink as accespoint instead of mesh router. second wavlink as extender. this way it all works. just not having mesh nodes which would be nice
Can you configure first wavelink as AP in mesh mode? Configuring it as router (mesh mode or not) is what causes all devices behind it to appear as wavelink to MT. As long as it’s possible to mesh wireless and wired ports this should be possible … even more, all mesh nodes can be set-up equally, but only one needs wired connection to be connected.
It’s probably not possible to use wireless connection between wavelink mesh and MT though.
sadly ap and mesh mode does not work. only mesh router mode offers mesh funtionality.
Now also found that if i configure wired wavelink as AP that one works. if i configure second wavelink as extender, it again hands out its own ip’s of dhcp pool. not much one can do in the menues to alter behaviour.
looks like have to find alternative hardware.
If the mesh router has the option to disable it’s dhcp server, you could do that.
Then plug the mikrotik’s LAN port into one of the lan ports of the router, and see if devices connect to the Mikrotik.
(You may need later to change the ip address of the mesh router as well)
tried disabling dhcp on wavlink and connect lan. did not work. now use kuwifi instead of wavlink. works
