Hi I am plannning to try 5GHz, but I have some doubts.
I read that range of 5GHz compare to 2.4GHz is smaller. I plan to situate it in area where will be trees in the way, can it get over trees in the way(how many propably without disconnectings or any other problems)?
I want to use for distance to clients max 2km.
What card will be the best for the link as ap and what card as client?
I was thinking r52, cm11, xr5, r5h…
Also I was thinking to use 5GHz turbo, but not sure if it is good idea for point to multipoint connection
I would not worry - even if the free space loss is larger on 5GHz, you are allowed to transmit with 10 times the output power (most countries allow 1W). The big upside on 5 GHz will be the lower interference level and the amount of spectrum available.
We have the best possible experience with 5 GHz vs 2.4 GHz.
