Have !000U setup as Radius server in Hotel with 375 room, have been very happy with the Router until recently. Our ISP supply us with 5MBPS up & down. The problem is the signal goes in at that rate but tonite it is coming out 512KBPS up & down. Checked all switchs etc all are fine but the problem seems to be with the router. Is is not fixable and should be replaced or if we reinstall the OS will this fix it. PLease help. it may be just a simple thing but need guidance. We have no help for Mikrotik in Canda

Incidently this happened to a RB532 we were using and we just replaced it, posed the question but no one replied, very frustrating. Not experts with this product and no training avail in Canada
seems like either configuration or ISP problem
check your queues
Have you looked at the logs? Do they show anything?
What is the CPU load?
How are you determining the speed at 5Mbps or 512Kbps?
Perhaps your customers are using 4.5Mbps of bandwidth and only leaving you with 512Kbps.
Have you run ‘torch’ during this time to see other traffic? (Under the tools menu in Winbox)
What happened when you rebooted the router?

We issue a time code to our customer for internet access thru the Radius setting on the Mikrotk to authenticate , I just recently set the limits on these cards to 512 down & 256 upload speed. I was told by them that you set the cards, not directly on the Mikrotik. I have reset these to unlimited, I’m not on site right now but will retest the output again. Up to this point it has been working fine. Maybe this accounts for the readings on the output from the Mikrotik router.
