Mikrotik 2.9.2 & Orinoco Gold connection problem!

I have two routers based on P166 RAM 64, IDE flash 512Mb
Each has two network cards Realtec 8029 and each has Orinoco Gold through PCI

I setup Microtic 2.9.2 to each plus all modules.
I used documentation from http://www.mikrotik.com/documentation/manu...ce/Wavelan.html
In Winbox in the Wavelan1 settings I can see only modes Ad-hoc and Infrastructure

SSID the same
IP for each
channel the same
speed 2Mb
no encryption

If I run both routers in ad-hoc mode they are connected. Without authorization and without encryption
I also run laptop with WiFi and scan for wireless networks. It found the net with SSID set by me on routers and starting to connect to it.
How can I avoid laptop to connect to this network?
Do I need to switch encryption and authorization on?
I tried different settings and don’t undestand ho to switch it on?

I use version 2.9.38 and I have same troble.
Autorization and encryption not work with orinoco gold.
And when run wifi card on my laptop, It found the net…
Please help.

orinocco only works in infrastructure/ad-hoc mode. you can’t make it work as an AP/client. you need to get a newer wireless card. as for your laptop - I have no idea why it wants to connect to an ad-hoc network. You can probably disable this function in the laptops Operating system. This is not a RouterOS question

But how i can enable Wireless security in ad-hoc mode? WEP or WPA…
or how i can enable MAC security in wavelan1 interface???
please help me.
