I have MT 2.9 and realtek 8169 gigabith ethernet adapters
i make trunk and vlans with cisco 2970 but traffic not goes through between gigabith ethernet(MT) and cisco
Where is the problem ? RouterOS ver or realtek 8169 chipset?
I have trunk situation between MT 3.X and relatek 8169 which works!
From your description is not clear, what is the problem with VLAN at v2.9.
But it is good reason to consider upgrade of 2.9 version to newer version 3.x at least (2.9 is too old version and there were no any changes to it for more than two years).

solved.
just to know, 2.9.x version recognize 8169 chip and traffic goes through nic but in interfaces status was unknown.
and in cacti i often have up/down situation for traffic counters.
vlan don’t working at all.
i back to 100mb nic 8139, same os 2.9.x and now vlan working very well.
intel 1000 pro is coming so … maybe with that nic vlan will work ok.

Hello everyone,
just to be sure is intel pro/1000 GT 8391 NIC is supported for RouterOS 2.9.X version?
I see in supported hardware in mikrotik wiki that that nic is suported for: 3.7, 3.1 and 2.9 (is that mean all version under 2.9.X?)

In field, its worked!
i see on cacti on some traffic about 110mbps or 120mbps graph don’t show green but i think that is for 30sec or 1min.(like packet loss)
I think cacti cannot do snmp-get operation in that moment because nic is very “busy”.

im wrong for cacti.
Cacti after 100mbit must recreate graph with 64-bit counter and snmpv2
after that everything working smooth
