Mikrotik 3.11 not installing

Hi,

I have downloaded https://www.mikrotik.com/download/mikrotik-3.11.iso and burned it on the CD-RW.
But as i put it in my CD-ROM to boot it up, it just skips it and goes to my old installed Mikrotik. Can any one please guide me what can be wrong here.

As i have to make a new install not an upgrade and have to do it ASAP!!!..

Please help me out.

Burn it to a CD-R and make sure you have that drive selected to boot from in the bios.

I really appreciate your suggestion, however can you please kindly tell me why i should write it to CD-R to be specific, why not CD-RW.

I have selected CD-ROM to be my First Boot Device.

Mudasir,
make Sure that the IMAGE is Burned Properly on the CD (Bootable CD),
I did mistake Once, Instead of Burning Image on the CD, I just copy the Image on the CD…

I would like to tell you guyz something, I just burned the iso image to a CD-R and it worked very well… :astonished:

I still dont know the exact logic..

maybe your cdrom drive with problems to read the boot information from cd-rw ( its harder to read a cd-rw than a cd-r)
