Mikrotik 5009 & FS.com EPON ONU SFP

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated

I have a setup:

  1. Internet Service Provider which use EPON technology (they use BDCOM P3600-08E on their end)
  2. On my side Mikrotik 5009 router
  3. With SFP module FoxGate ONU 1001XP-SFP

This setup is working, but I was not really happy with SFP module. It really overheats. Router shows that eeprom-checksum: bad so it does not shows any additional info from SFP module, etc.

I decided to switch it with one from FS.COM. I did tried to replace my SFP module with Generic Compatible EPON ONU SFP 1310nm-TX/1490nm-RX 1.25G-TX/1.25G-RX Class PX20+ 20km DDM SC SMF Optical Transceiver Module (Industrial).

But with no luck, unfortunately.

Router can perfectly see the module and read it’s info.

But connection is not established. :frowning:

It just constantly generates Rx FCS Errors :frowning: and could not receive anything.

Would appreciate any ideas how to troubleshoot it.

See the Question and Answers section of the module:

Q: Will this plug into any router or switch to give it on onu port, or does it have to go into a certian piece of equiptment
by S***e on 03/11/2023

A: > This module is not used in routers and switches and is plugged into an ONU with an SFP optical port. The module#133619can be plugged into a switch or router, and the whole module is equivalent to an ONU device.

Hi @smotrov . Have you made fs.com EPON ONU SFP work?
