It would be nice to see the new products but I can’t even get my hands on the ATL 5G’s at the moment… Mikrotik have lost focus on actually manufacturing the products they make that fly off the shelf!
@Normunds: LMP is not a special 5G mode in the CPE. It’s just a operator defined deployment and service profile using standard 5G, not a distinct technical mode and not something the client controls.
Please consider this a suggestion:
I believe that:
- A case for PCIe 3G, 4G, and 5G cards.
- To be connected to a routerboard via USB.
- With a USB cable of approximately 120cm.
- With built-in LTE and GNSS antennas.
- Officially produced by MikroTik itself.
Would significantly increase MikroTik's traction in the LTE/5G niche.
My particular interest in this isn't so much in forwarding production network traffic itself, but rather as a mechanism for an "Almost-Out-Of-Band" scenario, to be used in erm places or hard-to-reach places(some DCs).
Hes talking about the device I think ![]()
Sorry, my bad! Of cource he meant the Mikrotik product "LMP 5G” ![]()
Me too! When I wrote the somewhat cryptic ”CPE”, I meant the customer’s 5G device, but for a regular consumer it’s probably better to call it a ”5G modem” or ”5G router”. ![]()
Same boat, EU SKU’s only, missing lots of USA bands on this side of the pond. Can’t wait forever, its like they want people to go to Ubiquiti instead. I’d much prefer mikrotik cellular hardware over UBNT, Cradlepoint, etc. but they don’t offer it.
