Mikrotik 6.4 - FullLogging

Hi,

i’m trying to troubleshoot a Problem with a MicroTik Router. The Router needs to use an ADSL Modem to access the Internet.
The rouer can establish the PPPoE Client connection, gets IP addresses and DNS and some websites work fine, some do not work.
I assume it’s a problem of the MTU size & fragmentation.

The problem is, i cannot see anything in the MikroTik Router logs so i hoped to turn on some kind of “debug mode”, but did not really found anything.

Anyone might has an idea to “see” everything the devices does in the logs ?

Hi,

you can use “tools-> packet sniffer” to have a full packet/flow debug…

Thanks, so the old tcpump seems to be the only option to get kind of a debug logging.

Capturing the traffic, download the dump and then analyze the traffic in wireshark seems to be the only option to debug this problem in detail ?

I just hoped the MikroTik wizards might be able to pull some other magic option out of their pockets.

You can add debugging and pppoe logging rules in System > Logging.
