We are using
CCR1072 as router --version 6.43.4
CCR1036 as firewall --version 7.2
3x CCR1072 as PPPoE Servers --version 7.2
CCR1072 router everything is working fine.
CCR1036 firewall after 3 days uptime lost the ability to ping any IP even its own ip or any nearby host. Firewall otherwise its working fine as firewall.
Two of the CCR1072 PPPoE Servers have the same problem, Clients do have internet but we cant ping them.
The last one its working fine for now.
We do have access via winbox/ssh/..etc and they respond to pings.
Its interesting that /tool traceroute is working fine we can see responses there.
After restart they all work fine for a few days. But randomly one or more will loose ability to ping on 7.x versions.
We also have lot more mikrotik routers and switches that are on 6.x version and we never have this problem.
This started happening after we updated them to 7.1.3 and now we are on 7.2 and we have the same problem.
We wore planing to update Router to 7.2. But now we are thinking on reverting all.
Same ping problem. Does not work in CHR v7.3.1 version.
It is intermittent, the device restarts and after a few days it stops working, and all the configuration scripts that you have with the ping application fail.
Not a known bug, have a number of 2116 and 1036’s with PPPOE with no issue on multiple versions of 7.
Sounds more like you fell foul of OS changes between 6 and 7 you need to post a non sensitive config export.
I would also suggest if you are running pings from mikrotik you set the src-address it may be as simple as it’s not clear on OS7 what IP to use for source.
/ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx src-address=yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy
“ping” issue without more details of the specific scenario, configuration and topology, and at least specifying srs-ip to testing..
this point towards a config problem and or routing problem, this topic is more than 2 years old so initial context have changed too much, please open a new topic for a specific issue with enough info to prove it
