Mikrotik and FreeRadius

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/RouterOs_MySql_Freeradius was an awesome help in setting up Freeradius and MySQL

But he left us hanging.

At the end he gets freeradius up and MySQL running. But he only half way sets up Mikrotik and then says…

“Whats Left To Do
Well that’s the end of this guide, all that’s left to do now is setup a PPPoE server on the router and attempt to connect a user to do. If you get stuck remember to check the user-name and user-password is correct and you can put freeradius into verbose debug mode…”

I hve tried doing this but how do I know if Mikrotik is using the freeradius I have setup.

How do I setup a PPPoE to properly work with freeradius???

Can anyone help me with this.

Where is the post a Lebanese lady put up “http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=5756&sid=6478c021270daece1a47a217ade4fb35” about how to setup freeradius and mikrotik.

I am so close. I have freeradius working. I need more info on getting Mikrotic to use it or how to test and see if Mikrotik is using it.

ps Thanks in advance for any replies.

WOOT ok never mind got the Mikrotik to finally talk to the Radius Server now on to more problems to solve lol.

My applogies i will add into the guide how to check the radius status, however the guide was not meant to be a PPPoE server setup guide as this is very different from network to network

ah ok. Well anyways your guide was AWESOME. It really helped me.

I also got the PPPoE server part setup. Its sloppy but it works. The only problem I am running into now is that the PPPoE is not using my PPPoE POOL I made. It keeps grabbing the same IP address that is in the DHCP Pool.??? /sigh

I am a mouse in a cats world trying to find the cheese.

LOL

Framed-Pool = “Whatever” As part of your Radius Auth Reply.

Thanks so much Savage I pulled out EMS MySQL manager and started checking the SQL tables and found the section I needed.

The test-user was set to Frame-IP-Address instead of Frame-Pool.

After I setup a new user for testing and then set the Frame section to Frame-Pool the PPPoE logon used the PPPoE profile POOL I made.

I am going to pass this on to Beccara as he is making a PPPoE section for Freeradius on Wiki.

Thanks again for your help.
