Mikrotik and Mini PCI card 2w

Hi,
I ned your help.
I have a minipci card with 2W (2000mW). I can use this minipci card with all mikrotik routers?
Please tell me yours opinions about it.
Thanks

it doesn’t matter how powerful the card is. the only limitation is the chipset. if it uses an atheros chipset, it will work.

I used a card alpha networks of 2w and Chip Atheros in a rb212 router and a PC router with mikrotik and in both cases then the router was reset, it became slow and out on the screen the message "router has been disconnected. " Then I changed one of ubiquitin radio networks with 600mW and worked normally. What could have happened for this to happen? Thanks

rb212

there is no such model. we need more info. “router has been disconnected” is a message from Winbox, it has nothing do do with Wireless cards.

Sorry, my router is rb112. With card of 2w multiple users could not connect and when I changed to 600MW could connect.

in such situations you need to look at the log file, it will explain why user didn’t connect. also you need to look at the registration table, at the signal levels. maybe the card is not actually 2w but lower. Also check if you are using the correct connector, and if the antenna is good and correctly installed. High gain antenna is more important than high power miniPCI.

Everything was carefully reviewed. I have an array of 4 antennas each hyperlink 14dbi. Everything worked fine until I changed the radio of 600MW by 2W. I’m going to try other antennas to see what happens and take into account what you told me. Thanks.

Also check the antenna a or antenna b option.

It got me fooled a couple of times before.

I presume you are using a AWPC1085G. It is advertised at 2000mw.
But that is not actually correct. This is from the datasheet:

Output power:
IEEE 802.11b: 28dBm+1 @ 6Mbps
IEEE 802.11g: 24dBm+1 @ 54Mbps

Of curiosity how far are these links ? Also why the increase to 2W ?
