Mikrotik and TP link connection issue

I have a Mikrotik router OS acting as access switch with different vlans passed to the box from my core switch. I just got a TP link wirelsss router, I passed the vlan of the IP I want to statically configure on the WAN interface of the TPLink router so the TPLink leases it own dhcp 192.168.0.0/24 to clients connecting to the TPLInk SSID. Please note that the WAN interface ip i am configuring a a private IP that has all permissions on my firewall so the DHCP subnet on the TPLink should automatically inherit the permissions. Once I connect the cable from my router OS to my TPlink it shows me no internet on the client side but when I use a switch everything works. On my TPLink my operational mode is Router. Can someone help here

This is not the TP-Link forum.

TP-Link is a competitor to MikroTik in the access point market.
Therefore, questions about setting up your TP-Link access point should be posted on the TP-Link forum.

This may be a MikroTik forum, but it is still a user forum. Perhaps @anav can help - he was the unofficial TP-Link wireless promoter for a long time here. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

That's true, but what he was asking was about the configuration of the Mikrotik (as a switch).

I agree that the MikroTik forum isn't the place to ask questions about how to setup a TP-Link (or openwrt) router, but where is someone supposed to ask questions when they have equipment from multiple vendors?

If he went to the TP-Link forum and ask the question, the response would be "You must have your Mikrotik router setup wrong, because the TP-link router works when the Mikrotik is replaced with a switch".

Is the port that is connected to your TP-Link router configured as an access port (untagged)?

You will need to post your sanitized config of the Mikrotik router that is "acting as access switch with different vlans passed from the box from my core switch".

Instructions how to post the configuration here:

If you plug a PC into the cable that is going into th TP-Link router's WAN port, can you get it to work? You may need to configure a static address if you don't have a dhcp server for the vlan.

Can you upload a simple diagram showing how things are connected when it works (with the switch) and when it doesn't (with the MikroTik router/switch).
