Mikrotik API ?? Release dates ?

Hi,

are there any dates for a release of the Mikrotik API?

Will it be a "new" API or will the WinBox protocol be exposed ...

I have no fun to do everything via SSH and a self written GUI .... I think I am not alone with this wish/demand.
