Mikrotik as bandwidth manager

hi

I am running a small ISP with 10 Mb capacity

I was thinking to use mikrotic 493G/450G as bandwidth manager

i have dedicated customers and shared customers

how i can configure my shared customers to share a bandwidth pool

ie, i have 2Mb package which will be shared among 8 customers
i have 8 customers subscribing this package , how i can ensure that this customer group is taking only 2Mb and they are equally sharing this 2Mb bandwidth


please Help.

Read the wiki manuals on queueing, both PCQ and simple queues.

the above question is very important so that we can have the setup as i want the same setup where you can share a bandwdith for some people in the same pool, so that whe they login, they will all assign to the same pool.

Will hotspot solve such situation, if yes how do someone go about it.

yes. PCQ queue on QueTree helped me to configure it.

i have hardly 50 customers and 10-12Mb traffic.

Queue tree with PCQ queue ia taking 50-60% of teh CPU process. i have dedicated one MT1100 Router for this.

to be honest, it works without any problem. only trouble is the process to mark the packet for outgoing and incoming traffic.

i wish Mikrotik introduce a product only for bandwidth management purpose with better CPU and RAM and automatic configuration for each IP address. ( Addresslist, magling and Queue ) with a noce GUI
