Mikrotik as WiFi server and WiFi client simultaneously

Is it possible to configure Mikrotik in such a way that it works both as a Wi-Fi client and as a Wi-Fi router?

For example, I arrive at a hotel, connect my Mikrotik to the hotel’s Wi-Fi network, and connect my laptop to my Mikrotik’s Wi-Fi.
Mikrotik should not work in Bridge mode, but in Router mode with NAT.

Thanks for the help.

Sure, can be done.
What you are looking for is called “Road Warrior setup”

See here for an example where this is being discussed (the MUM presentation will bring you the most info):

You have all choices … Station mode with WAN and NAT, or “repeater setup” where wifi server and wifi client are just bridged together.

(There is a “Setup Repeater” button in WinBox “wireless interface”, creating an extra virtual WLAN , bridged with the other WLAN interface)

For the WAN+NAT create a virtual (WLAN) interface for the Wifi server (AP) function, it is port of the bridge and part of the LAN interface list, using the DHCP server of the bridge
The Wifi client function must be on the real WLAN2 interface, that’s the WAN connected to the public wifi, not a port on the bridge, using DHCP client if needed.

hap ax lite

I bought and configured MikroTik Hap AC2 (RBD52G-5HacD2HnD-TC) - the scheme works.
Thx!

hAP ax Lite, as superset of hAP ac Lite ? Not in everything IMHO!
Miss USB A (for Woomb or LTE stick, even memory. Miss 5Ghz band, miss PoE in and PoE out, …)
