I’m wondering if there are any major compatibility issues between Mikrotik/Atheros APs and any run-of-the-mill wireless cards used in laptops these days.
The reason I ask is that we’ve set up several hotspots at local hotels using Zyxel APs. While the Zyxel APs are very stable, we have found a few apparent compatibility issues and quirks with certain wireless cards commonly used in laptops (Broadcom based cards, in particular). We are contemplating swapping these APs for RB112/CM9-based Mikrotik APs. Before we do so, I just want to make sure we’re not going to end up with the same problem.
Can anyone who has had experience with using a wide variety of wireless cards with Mikrotik APs comment?
