MikroTik ATL 5G R16 with Sim + eSIM

Hello everyone,
I’m from Estonia. I need to add an eSIM (Tele2) to my MikroTik ATL 5G R16 in addition to the existing physical SIM card (Telia). I need this so that the technician on the roof can rotate the antenna while I remotely switch profiles to select wich one works the best in my location.

Right now I have a physical SIM (Telia) installed with working internet. I understand that the modem can operate either in SIM mode or in eSIM mode.

Can I use the internet from the physical SIM to activate the eSIM?

I tried switching the modem to eSIM mode and then following the instructions through the terminal. But I’m getting different errors:

If I use the command

[user@MikroTik] /interface/lte/esim> provision activation-code=1$server$activation_code
status: resolving error

If I try this command:

[user@MikroTik] /interface/lte/esim> provision lte sm-dp-plus=server matching-id=activation_code
status: resolving error

As far as I can guess, the problem is that the ATL 5G R16 does not have internet access for activation - or am I wrong?

Pleas do not use "Re: ..." as a topic name.
It is confusink and it could be treated as spam.
Corrected.

EDIT:

wrong reply, sorry

Unfortunately no, only one can be used at the same time. If you have set the sim slot to “sim” then it wont be able to communicate with the eSIM. You need a seperate WAN connection to be able to provision a new esim profile.

Here is a video tutorial from our YouTube channel:

If you can connect to the router via our mobile app(for example, if you have a wireless access point connected to the ATL and can connect to it via that), then you can also use the mobile cellular data to provision the profile:
