fw:6.34.4: Utilizing the MIkrotik Bandwidth tool I was able to get 4Gbps UDP with two sfp+ connected ports, TCP with 20 connection count 1.3-1.5 Gbps.
Whats with the limitation?

Run traffic generator over the tested routers, not on the tested routers.
I get it, however, I’m in a remote location, testing a cross connect circuit…they are selling me rate limited
circuit, I was just utilizing the the OS for testing the rate of the circuit. I’m not testing routers themselves…
Issue is when utilizing bandwidth tool “send” it only uses 1 CPU @ 100%. So can never get to 10G…
When “receiving” then there is maybe 5% cpu utilization.. Of course the other router’s cpu is getting hammered…
Is there a way to utilize more than one cpu on the test? What’s the point of the tool if it doesn’t function to its fullest capability?
Maybe feature request, or just plain kernel limitation?..
As I mentioned, traffic generator can be used instead. This tool tries to use all available cores.
