I have an unusual problem that started recently. I’ve tried 3 different iMessage devices on different Apple Id’s, have disabled all my firewall rules, signed out and back in on iMessage on said devices. No iMessage images will go through. If I put in a crappy Netgear, my messages go through. Put RB751 back in, no go. Updated firmware and OS as well. 3.24 and 6.31 respectively.
I also disabled all my firewall rules, changed Public DNS, and still nothing. What can I do to trace this problem in the MT? If anyone has any ideas without having to reset the router I would appreciate it. It has me confused.
imessage is using ports 80,443,5223 as said here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202078
i think u should backup your configuration and try a reset of the router and start with default config and see if its working.
Sorry to bother you joverby, but we have same problems till now. Have you already solved this problem with sending images (more exactly any file attachments)???
do you use PPPoE or some kind of tunnel to connect to the internet? Maybe it is a MTU issue. I haven’t seen anyone else writing about this, so all I can do is guess
Negative. Simple ISP DHCP connection. Still having the issue even after a reset, upgrade firmware and rOS, etc. Happening on three different iOS devices.
We are using fixed public IP on both sides (two locations with two mikrotik gateways). File attachments are possible to send/receive only inside location (in local network) but not between locations trhu public internet.
We are trying to save it about half an year, but no success…
(Our internet connection uses wireless microwave line - i tested ping with 3 kb packets and they go trhu without problems)
