MikroTik Bonding Failover Issues.

Hi everyone,

I was testing the different types of bonding in mikrotik between 2 devices. When im sending or downloading traffic it balance the traffic perfectly when im testing balance xor or 802.3ad.

BUT whenever i unplugg 1 of the 2 ethernet cables, it starts dropping packets, it has packet loss and i dont know why, i have tested it with other mikrotiks and the problem persists.

In conclusion: Bonding balance the traffic pretty well, but the failover doesnt work as it should.

as you can see on the images from the botton to the top:

  1. Bonding configuration (i have tested other Transmit Hash policies)
  2. No packet loss when i have the 2 cables connected.
  3. Whenever i unplugg 1 of the cables, it starts dropping packets = Failover doesnt work well.

Is there someone who knows why and how can i solve this packet loss problem?

Change the link monitoring to MII and test again…

I user RR and everything works perfect between 2 RB1100AHx4
