Mikrotik CCR1036-8G CPU 100%

Hello,

we have the routerboard CCR1036-8G-2S, firmware 6.44.5.

We are use as gateway to internet for 1000 users.
“QUEUES, NAT and Firewall”

Average flow data 750 Mbps

If data flow exceeds 820 Mbps, the routerboard will increase the load from an average of 25 percent to 100 percent. It will help to turn off the QUEUS upload part.

Have you any idea what it the problem might be.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

MIchael

I guess you use Simple queues right? They cosume a lot CPU…

Go to tools Profiles check all and click start, then see where the most CPU usage is…

I use queues tree.

Print screen in attachment:-(

Even though you use queue trees, as i can see an average of 50% is constantly consumed by the queues…

How are you giving internet to your 1000 clients? Using tunnels?

Yes cca 1000 clients.

We have a routed network, we use NAT to the Internet on a this machine. We don’t use any tunnels.

Printscreen at quess tree with upload. If we turn off the queues tree of upload, the avarage cpu is about 25 percent

As far what i know “global” use only one core of the procesor (thats why you hit almost 100%) try to change it to interface traffic is going out.

I was having same problem like 3 month ago.

Thanks for the tip.

If I change the Queus tree parent from “global” to the outgoing interface (for me ether2), mikrotik just limit my upload. Download in queus tree doesn’t work.

Queues type I have “default”.

I dont know how you have your tree setup in my case i make like 10 global trees and add one rule to one global and same as in your case only for download, Ive manage to lower cpu usage form 90 in peek to 35-45 in peek.

Thats how its work for me.

Ok, I will try …

thank you
