this is cool but i have only one consern with this..
i think it will take away a lot of info from the forum, the nice thing about the forum is people can search for topics and 9 time out of 10 they are there already..
with the chat this will be all lost..
so bigger questions go in forum, chat is for quick questions
I second that.
I would even go so far as to say if there was an interesting question in the chat (which was solved), we perhaps should put it in the forum, too (for reference). And there’s the wiki, too, of course ![]()

I think you need something better than just chating which useful post can be forwarded to into different forum or they can get rated or stikcy or something that ppl who have the same problem can actualy search in there, check the guide section in http://www.tek-tips.com it will be more helpful

Nice… at least for very quick answers. PLease make all links in chat to open in new window instead of loading on the already opened chat page.
I prefer IRC (I can always be online, and logging everything, it is anoying to enter in the channel and see 10 ppl, and nobody online, but it is better than entering and see nobody at all). ![]()

It would be cool to see a chat feature in MikroTik WinBox. Being able to comminicate with our own Tech Support via a chat winbox via MAC & IP Addressing.

i dont know if it becomes feature request but I preffer to have chat or send message to user just show up as a popup or redirecting page to give attention for server maintainance and etc

chat is interesting since one can have a quick answer 24hrs a day. This is a live support community that if well managed can take away some pression on official mk support.
I agree that it would be interesting to create separate rooms with the subject that is treated inside. Otherwise you can loose the logic of you chatting mixing up/down your questions/answers with others.

This chat should have sound notification after somebody types the message.

Well, then a feture to turn on or off the sounds ![]()
When there are 5-6 ppl in chat, I minimize that button as nobody types nothing, and miss when typing starts.
If it is easy to implement this, if will be nice, if no, we can live without it ![]()
when we will go to next phase of this thing, we will make more functions. right now it is only a test - we would like to see if people need chat or not. the more people we see there, the more likely is that the project will evolve
