Mikrotik chateua 5g ax

I hope this message finds you well. I recently received a device, and I’m encountering some issues that I would appreciate your help with.

Device Details:

Model: Mikrotik Chatue 5g ax (S53UG+m-5HaxD2Haxd-TC&RG502Q-EA
Component in question: RG502q-ea
Timeline:

6/13/2023 - Received the device.
6/13/2023 - Noticed the device was struggling to lock on to 5G connectivity.
6/13/2023 - Decided to update the firmware to version 7.9.2.
Post-update - The wireless interfaces no longer appeared on the device.
6/13/2023 - Attempted to resolve the issue by downgrading to the original firmware (version 7.:sunglasses: but the device remains non-functional.
Additional Information:

Under the USB section of Resources, I noticed an entry labeled “RG502q-ea”. I am uncertain if there should be an additional entry for another wireless chip.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

Downgraded the firmware back to version 7.8.
reset configuration back to defaults
Request for Assistance:
I would be extremely grateful if anyone could provide some insights or suggestions for rectifying this issue. It is vital for me to have a functional device and I’m concerned that the firmware update may have caused an irreversible problem.

Is there a specific method to restore the wireless interfaces?
Should there be another entry for a wireless chip in the Resources section?
Are there known issues with firmware version 7.9.2 that could be causing this problem?
Is there any additional troubleshooting or recovery steps that could be recommended?

Sounds like you manually upgraded your device (manually uploaded only the main package) and didn’t include the wifiwave2 package (which is separate). Add that package to restore wireless. You should check your packages page before manually updating a device, or better just use the ‘Check For Updates’ button on the ‘Package List’ page to let it do the work for you.

Also reset to factory defaults after installing wifiwave2 package so that also default configuration for that package gets installed/applied.

I was able to get the device happy again once that package was applied. I will state that the update was applied by clicking check update the first time so not sure exactly why the package wasn’t updated at the same time?
