Mikrotik Chatue 5g ax 5g sa 7.10 broken? [SOLVED]

I hope this message finds you well. I recently received a device, and I’m encountering some issues that I would appreciate your help with.

Device Details:

Model: Mikrotik Chatue 5g ax (S53UG+m-5HaxD2Haxd-TC&RG502Q-EA
location: USA - Wisconsin
Timeline:

6/13/2023 - Received the device.
6/18/2023 - Decided to update the firmware to version 7.10 - as the lte / 5g wouldn’t show up all the time i have had IP address just disappear.
pre-update: version 7.8 , locked onto 5g sa - google fi n41 @100Mhz earfcn
Post-update - no more 5G SA data Class. only locks to LTE band

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

Downgraded the firmware back to version 7.8. - 5G SA locks
Upgraded to 7.9 - no 5G SA
downgraded to 7.8 - 5g SA locks
upgraded to 7.9.1 - no 5g sa
upgraded to 7.9.2 - no 5g sa
upgraded to 7.10 - no 5g sa

I’ve reset the configuration back to defaults on each upgrade and downgrade, I’ve also made sure to upgrade the firmware version between links as well.
i have also attempted to uncheck 3g and lte for force 5g but it doesn’t seem to help
i have also tried to specify the NR band of 41 thinking maybe something with the search is a bit off but that doesn’t seem to have changed anything either, looking for suggestions on what i can try next.

be aware below is the signal on the 5g SA.

Current Operator Google Fi
Data Class 5G SA
RSRP -88 dBm (good)
SINR 20 dB (excellent)
RSRQ -11.0 dB (good)

Here’s an essential tip for fellow users, as I’ve just successfully restored 5G functionality on my device:

Should you become an owner of this particular device, it’s imperative to keep the firmware up-to-date, especially on the LTE card. Navigate to the LTE card, then hit “Check Firmware.” Now, here’s where it gets a tad bit tricky: if you find that the version number displayed is identical to the one your device currently has, don’t make the mistake of assuming - like I initially did - that you’re all set. In reality, after updating the LTE modem to version 01.001.01.001, a new option magically appears that enables you to upgrade further to RG502QEAAAR13A03M4G_02.001.02.001.

I highly recommend going through both of these updates. Post-upgrade, my device is exhibiting rock-solid stability and has rejoined the fast lane with 5G connectivity. Cheers to seamless browsing and streaming!

Hey, I was also having a similar issue. I had to upgrade to the latest RG502QEAAAR13A03M4G_02.001.02.001 firmware to connect to the 5G SA (?) network. Weirdly, when I only enable 5G connection and disable 3G and LTE, it still shows up as 5G NSA. Does that also happen to you or do you see 5G SA as the Data Class?
