Hello everyone!
I have a client, and I’m trying to configure a management IP address to remotely manage a MikroTik Cloud Router. However, I’m facing some challenges since I’m more familiar with another vendor and not fully accustomed to MikroTik devices yet.
The first issue is that I successfully configured the management IP address on the Ether2 port. However, when I attempt to connect remotely from the office using Winbox, I can’t find the MikroTik device. I suspect it might be due to a missing firewall rule for remote access, but I’m unsure how to configure it on this “wonderful” device.
Could anyone guide me on setting up the required firewall rules for remote management?
Why do you bother on cloud router, there is no etherport2.
If you dont mean a cloud hosted router then provide a network diagram and in either case
provide both MT configs at each end of the connection
/export file=anynameyouwish ( minus router serial number, any public WANIP information, keys etc. )
And as @Anav pointed out: It’s pretty tough to help out if you don’t explain exactly what’s not working, share a brief overview of the network topology and provide a full config export (minus anything that needs to be left out for privacy reasons). This migh help: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/forum-rules/173010/1
I still dont understand the request.
The router should have a management vlan.
Is your question, how to access the management vlan remotely…why are you asking here, the answer is via VPN. Surely you know that??
