We have a problem that 2 MT consultants have not been able to solve. We are a WISP that has 2 cable modem connections. They are 12X1.5 each. We are presently using one connection from the cable modem into the router. The cable modem is supplying a stable 12X1.5, but the MT Core Router only out puts 6X768. We have disconnected the network and all periphery equipment and connected our laptop to the CR, no change, still 6X768. We disconnected the CR and connected a linksys router to the cable modem, 11X1.5 a good result. Of cours the linksys can’t do the job of the CR, it was only to test throughput. We changed the cable modem to a new motorola surfboard, no change. We switched to the second circuit, all the same results. We had the consultants look, config good. We even removed the firewall rules, no change. We minimized the config, no change. I gues we will go to a Cisco router and junk the MT core router. The consultant sent us another new one, no change. We added memory, no change. Anyone out there with any similar experience or results?

I have seen issues like this before - one thing I would try is use ping, do not fragment, and start with a 1500 byte packet…work your way down until you get a reply, then find the exact byte count. I would go down by ten on each try, then up 5 once you get a reply and fine tune the byte count…
Set your MTU for the port accordingly and that should get you going…
No promises though - sometimes an issue like this can take a little time to flush out.
