mikrotik CPU 100% usage

just want to ask if some of you have this problem.. mikrotik cpu usage is at 90-100%..

my mikrotik is attach to 6 sectoral stations..

the station now provides bandwidth to other micro site..

now almost 51 micro sites are connected to the mikrotik.. is this seems to be the problem? how many AP can the mikrotik handle? im currently using rb1200.

and what mikrotik series can i use..

thank you

  1. What is the config of Mikrotik Router u r using?
  2. How much bandwidth r u consuming?
  3. What services are you running?

Mahnet

im using rb1200 series

currently the usage of my mikrotik is 10-20Mbps
based on my cacti.

im running a hotspot using my mikrotik as my access controller. for my
radius server

I have an RB-133 that jumps to 100% for no apparent reason and stays there. About an hour ago I was using a L2TP VPN into the router when my connection dropped. The RB dropped its public IP and went to 100%.
I tried renewing the IP, then disabled and enabled the interface but still could not pull an IP from the ISP.
Reboot seems to be the only cure.

As for 10-20 mbps it does max out early when hotspot and radius is running on it. Radius does consume lot of resources. I had to switch over to 1100ah x2 when mine started being on 100% at about 20 mbps.

I agree i think the radius / Hotspot combo is probably consuming a lot of CPU resource.

what seems to be the possible solution for this?

my radius - hotspot combo is needed in the business.

what mikrotik can you suggest me to use

i am using RB1200

thank you

RB1100AH X2 should solve ur needs immediately and take you upto 100mbps else for more wait for the 36-core CCR-1036. It will be out in the US this week. But we r guessing the CCR-1036 price to be around 1000$.

I have heard lots of people talking about this same problem with RB-133. Maybe, and I’m just supposing, it could be a project problem. But in the case related with RB 1200, I think it’s because of hotspot and Radius too…
