Sorry for that. It’s very hard to do a research on mobile phone in a tram. I just remember that mikro means small and tikls means network. Lately they cut off the -ls to get nicer name - brand.

Mikro on the other hand I assume comes from ‘micro’ which in turn comes from ‘Μικρό’ which is Greek for ‘small’
