Mikrotik for cloud DDNS

Hi guys,

simple fast question - Im simply wanting to add a mikrotik device to serve as a dynamic dns updater for external access. It doesn’t need to be a full fledged router as I may end up using another router for that (or would like the option, simply for simplicities sake)

Am I right in assuming anything that has full routerOS capabilities can use this service to update the dynamic dns address through iP/cloud? I see an AP that could be useful to serve a dual function as a wireless access point and dynamic dns updater.

Thanks

Correct.
Your RouterOS box will register its “serial number” at “sn.mynetname.net
Eg. 819f055bdb11.sn.mynetname.net

I use this for years now, but on a Mikrotik router device. Not 100% sure for AP’s, do not have one to test with.

This is true for every device running RouterOS, except CHR without license.
