Hello dear mikrotik specialists, i have Mikrotik Groove A-5Hn, this device worked six years without any problem but now i have an problem.
I can’t log with Winbox (can’t see ip address)
Netinstall can’t see this device.
When I connect this device at my computer throught LAN cable in ethernet status I have 10 Mbps (normaly this is 100 Mbps).
Wifi funtional working and this device working but i can’t access.
I maked hard-reset byt I have some problem.
I think the problem it’s capacitors or Ethernet transformer from motherboard on this device.
I want to change capacitors, but I don’t know what capacitor I need to change. I can provide an video with this device about this problem.
Have someone TroubleShooting material about how can I test device?
I assume you already tried different POE pigtail, PSU and cables with known working ones to rule that possibility out.
You mentioned its wireless part seems to be working. Have you tried to connect by MAC Winbox wirelessly?
Depending on its configuration you could be able to connect to it by IP also.
Have you tried connecting to it by mac winbox (wired)?
If you are not able to connect wirelessly to it this could be an indicator of the entire board failing to boot completely. You seem to believe the board is booting, could you please specify why?
If you can connect to it through wireless without problem It could be a faulty connector on the rj45. Have you inspected the RJ-45 connector pins? They could be rusted, or suphated (typical on outdoors), or even broken or bent.
If that’s not the case, to troubleshoot capacitors, dissasemble and smell… look for bulged out capacitors or electrolytic residue on nearby PCB area.
