Hello everyone,
The following packages are available on RouterOS 7.13.5:
Wireless
Wifi-qcom
Wifi-qcom-ac
I installed the wireless package—all devices connect and work (I haven't checked the speed yet).
What packages need to be installed to support both 2.4 devices (such as kettles and thermostats) and the latest smartphones/laptops?
What are the differences between the packages?
See here:
Wireless - package for legacy wireless devices (wifi 4)
wifi-qcom - package for AX devices (wifi 6)
wifi-qcom-ac - package for ARM based devices having wifi. Similar drivers as wifi-qcom. Not 100% the same but performance wise much better then wireless. (wifi 5)
HOWEVER:
most of the ARM based devices able to use wifi-qcom-ac driver, also come with rather limited storage space. AC2 is one of those.
So if you only use that device as AP, you may (IMHO should) use wifi-qcom-ac driver).
If however you use that device for other stuff (as a router, with DNS, with adlist, ...) proceed carefully then. You may not have enough space left.
BTW since recently there is also wifi-mediatek driver. For now only applicable to hAP AX S.
Don't forget the wifi-mediatek driver
Aah...you didn't
